Before There Was LOMI
Some dreams don't begin with a business plan.
Mine began with the sound of an old foot operated sewing machine that belonged to my mother a gift from my grandfather. Although he is no longer with us, that machine remains one of my most treasured childhood memories.
My mother loved creating. She transformed old sarees into beautiful dresses, skirts, and tops with patience, creativity, and care. Watching ordinary fabric become something beautiful felt like magic, and without realizing it, I was falling in love with the art of making clothes.
I was fascinated by that sewing machine.
My legs were too short to reach the pedal, so I turned the handwheel with my hands just to watch the needle move.
I stitched my fingers.
I secretly cut fabrics that weren't meant to be cut.
I even got scolded for ruining perfectly good material.
Looking back now...
those childhood mistakes were actually my first lessons in fashion.
Curiosity Stitched Into Childhood
Learning Without Realizing
School only made that curiosity stronger.
I loved embroidery, paper crafts, hand stitching, and making things from scratch.
At home, my classroom was wherever my mother was sewing.
I learned simply by watching.
Soon I was stitching my own projects, altering old clothes, and eventually making my own school uniform.
It wasn't perfect.
But it was mine.
The Long Detour
Life took me somewhere else.
I left my first degree behind, carrying more questions than answers.
So I chose to start over from the beginning, pursuing an entirely different degree.
What began as a fresh start slowly became something I genuinely enjoyed. I completed my Master's, After many rejections and waiting periods I slowly starts building my career.
My plan was simple, I would save money first, then one day build my dream.
But despite everything, I wasn't truly happy.
Along the way, I gained technical skills, responsibility, and problem, solving abilities, skills that would later help to build LOMI.
Every day, I felt like I was putting mine on hold.
I used to think.
"Is this really the life I want?"
Then one question changed everything.
"If not now... then when?"
The Birth of LOMI
I finally decided it was time to begin.
I learning everything I could about textiles different fabrics, weaving, dyeing, finishing,
and garment making.
The more I learned, the more one fabric stood out.
Linen.
It was everything I wanted my brand to be.
Natural. Breathable. Timeless. Comfortable.
Beautiful enough to become even better with age.
To understand it better, I travelled to meet manufacturers, visited weaving units,
and learned directly from the people behind every fabric.
Every visit taught me something new and brought me one step closer to the brand
I had always imagined.
LOMI wasn't built overnight.
It grew from years of learning, curiosity, patience, and finally having the courage to begin.
Today, LOMI is more than a clothing brand.
It's a reflection of everything I believe in thoughtful design, natural fabrics, timeless silhouettes,
and limited collections made with intention.
Because the most beautiful things aren't rushed.
They're made slowly and meant to be worn for years.
